Mestenas Mini Drill

The Herriman High School Drill Team had a Mini Drill Camp for ages 5-12. I thought it would be fun for Brinley to do it. It ran through Sept. 14th-16th, then on the 17th they got to perform at the football game during half time. Brinley wanted a friend to do it with, so I called our neighbor Laurel and asked if Madison could do it with her. It was so cute and so fun for both of them. Brinley loves everything about cheer & dance so she was in heaven. Herriman played Bingham and that's where Luke went to school, so he was excited to go. I hadn't been to a football game in years, so it was fun for all of us!!

DISASTER

September 19th was the day a major DISASTER hit the town of Herriman! Around 3 pm the National Guard started a fire on the other side of the mountain and spread very quickly making it's way to Herriman. The wind was so bad that day so it made the fire move even quicker. By 8 pm we could see the fire creepy over the mountain coming towards so many homes. It was so scary to watch the whole thing happen right outside our back window. By 10pm we packed up our pictures and important papers and headed to my parents house in South Jordan. We weren't evcauated but we still left because we could not stand smelling the smoke anymore, it was making all of us sick. Luke stayed at the house. He was to worried about everything to leave. I was so scared and worried, not only for us but for the people that lived right in the line of fire. The homes that were in the most danger were alot of our ward members homes, so it hit really close to home.(literally) The next morning we went back to our house expecting to find more than half of the houses gone, but only 3 homes burned down. The main thing that was left was one seriously fried mountain!! Thanks to all the Firefighters and all the other people involved in helping, so many homes were saved. This was a major DISASTER and I hope to never be a part of anything that scary ever again!!!

For my Birthday this year my request was to go to the park & play volleyball. My family, some of Luke's family & some of our friends gathered at the park behind our house for dinner & volleyball. Ainzlee's B-Day is the 13th & Preston & Logan's B-Day is the 14th so we sang Happy Birthday to them too. I always love my birthday, but I don't love getting another year older!
